Law Office of Glenn S. Banner

Challenges

Glenn Banner is a personal attorney with decades of experience. He came to us with the intent of leaving the office, and expanding his personal law practice. He needed a clear, professional identity that resembled the nature of a large law firm. We chose blues that were rooted in professionalism and backed it up with typefaces that evoked authority and readability.

Process

Once we had gone through some of the variations above internally, we arrived at these variations below. We felt that red, green, and blue evoked their own senses of professionalism but we all landed on the blue being the right fit. We also felt that the combination of the G and B into one form (monogram), felt the most clever and had the most personality of the bunch. In the end, we decided to ditch the square enclosing the G & B to give the monogram more size next to the typographic lockup.

Website Development

We thought it best that we didn’t stick to the market standard for web design in the current Jacksonville area, which tends to be chaotic and overloading. We created a digestable layout for the user, that had clear calls to action throughout each page, to increase user flow.

Process

After finishing off some of the branded stationary for Glenn, we moved into wireframes for the homepage. We developed a few sketches, put together some computer roughs, and refined them into some options for Glenn. After reviewing the first round with him, we found that the Free Consultation form was one of his greatest assets for his website’s funnel. If this was higher on the page, this would draw in more potential clients. Instead of letting a form stand on it’s own as the website’s header, we laid this over a scene of Jacksonville to keep some visual interest with the viewer.

Once we were able to land on a homepage design, we were able to start moving onto the other pages on the site. We started by building out the tablet and mobile versions of the homepage to give ourselves an idea of how the elements would break down into smaller browser widths. We then applied this system to the About and Contact pages and built out a template for the services pages. Glenn’s main piece of feedback was to keep the free consultation form on each service page, as well as links to his other service pages.
